We decided to shorten our day and only make half the climb to O’Cebreiro and stop in the tiny village of La Faba. Most of the walk was along the roadside until we hit a steep, rocky trail that ascends into La Faba. They kids felt great and said they could go on however stopping early gives us more time to recover. We will stay in an albergue run by German volunteers and spend some time with other pilgrims.
Tomorrow will be our longest and probably most difficult hike. 27+km with net elevation gain/loss of almost 2000m (800m of ascent and almost 1100m of descent). We made reservations in Triacastela so we will take our time.
